Biz Caz Fri

This is the first time that it's really started to feel a bit like summer. That means really REALLY humid. The next few days will consist of making suppers that don't involve an oven. That means a lot of sandwiches and cold salads.

This dress is perfect to beat the heat. It's made with a jersey material and it has a nice open back. I wore this to work and slapped on a cream cardigan if the AC in the office got into overdrive. Even better is that this dress has significant stretch, so if you're on the busty side like yours truly, you won't feel the dreaded boob crush that comes with a lot of dresses.

Red Dress: Anthropologie *currently on sale* 79.99$ (Buy it here)
Brown Belt: Ardene  9.50$ (Buy it here)
Brown Peter Pan Collar Flats: 1861 29.99$ (They were available on ModCloth for awhile but I think they are sold out now.)

Fake Monday

First day back to work after being off for over a week. I needed a break for awhile and it was wonderful. I got a lot done around the house and still managed to watch a lot of TV (Arrested Development anyone?)

So my office isn't somewhere with a strict dress code, people can wear jeans and sneakers, it's not a big deal. That being said, I do have to meet with people fairly often so I try to avoid that on days I have meetings. This green dress is quite practical for that, however, it's a bit short so I can't wear it without tights.

Green Dress: Onze 59.99$ (Buy it Here)
Green Shoes: Wal-Mart 12$
Polka dot tights: Joe Fresh 4.95$
Yellow Necklace: Gift

Rainy Day

Nothing super fancy, just a comfy outfit that will keep me warm when I go out for a mini supper date with Dave. (It's taco day) It's still raining pretty hard out and cold so... layers to the rescue. This is also something I have worn several times at work that transitioned well for school, and will probably make a return when Fall comes round again.

Cherry Sweater: Old Navy 27.94$ *This isn't available on the Canadian site anymore, but it can still be found on the US one.(Buy It Here)
Peter Pan T-Shirt and Black Pants: H&M (Both old but I'm pretty sure the pants were like, 15 bucks)
Peach Oxfords: Aldo 29.98$ on sale (Buy It Here)

Going Green

Let me just say, that it has been years since I've tried to use a camera that wasn't on my phone, eeeesh. This involved a lot of trial and error because of the lack of space in my place.

Anyways, it's been quite cold considering we're getting close to the end of May; I wore a sweater yesterday. I just want to be able to wear something a little more spring-y, hence all the green. I've been on vacation from work for over a week and it's pretty much been raining the entire time. I was able to get a significant amount of video gaming done though. This has become increasingly difficult as I have gotten older; simply finding the time to do things  you enjoy. I'm going to try and make more of an effort in doing so.

Back to the outfit details, I have to give Old Navy/Gap/Banana Republic credit. They consistently have coupon codes or sales on their site, that makes things a heck of a lot more affordable. You will notice that most of my outfits end up including a lot of pieces from their stores.

Bicycle print shirt: Gap 59.95$ 30% coupon code used (buy it here)
Skinny Jeans: Old Navy (Old)
Mint Belt: Ardene   9.50$  (buy it here)
Green Wedges: B.A.I.T. footwear 39.98$ on sale (buy it here)

Welcome

Hello everyone, this is my very first post and my first blog. I suppose I should start with a little about myself and what I want this blog to be about.

I'm a 30 year old woman from Canada who has recently decided to return to university, while working a standard 9 to 5 office job. That being said, being surrounded by students everyday with incredible fashion sense got me thinking; just because I'm a little bit older doesn't mean I have to dress like I'm in an office all the time.

I want to be able to share outfits that work both for the office as well as for school, that is age appropriate, winter friendly when applicable, fun and most of all inexpensive. My motto in life is don't pay full price. You can have a fun functional wardrobe that doesn't cost a fortune. Whenever possible, I will try to post the prices of the clothing I buy. While I do work full time, school and bills are not cheap and I want to be able provide some ideas for those in similar situations.

While this blog will be fairly fashion/clothing related, there will still be a lot of posts about my other interests, such as video games, food, crafts, gardening and more often than not, my cat and dog.
